As the century progresses, the very concept of unplanned downtime for IT managers recedes further into memory. At IFL, your systems run 24*7*365 unless you decide otherwise.

Our racks are ‘fed and watered’ with the very best in redundant power supplies and communications links, to guard against power cuts and com's dropouts. The racks are held within secure cages – so no unplanned interruptions from visitors, then. You can choose to further isolate your IT from unwanted contact with a dedicated data suite.

At the first hint of a problem our team are ready to act. Our helpdesk is always there to answer your questions and to send in dedicated engineers located in our building. Hopefully you won’t need them; our advanced suite of NOC tools gives you system by system management to your desktop. If you see a crisis brewing, at your request we’ll go straight to your racks and provide emergency services, such as system power cycling and basic configuration changes. And scheduled engineering from our highly-trained engineers means that you can accomplish preventative maintenance without leaving your seat.

When we designed the facility, we built it for redundancy from the ground up. We’re on a high-capacity HV ring from the local power substation, to prevent accidental power interruptions from civil works, backed up with generators on site. Each hall has independent power with additional UPS, and even the air conditioning has additional switchgear for emergencies. Our intelligent cooling configurations mean that the temperature inside our suites is always at the optimal 18 - 22˚C.

From the bollards outside the building right down to the individual combination locks on each rack, the physical security of your system has always been paramount to IFL. With a whole range of deterrents to entry, including 24*7 onsite security, your systems are in safe hands. But we’re not in the business of obstructing your access. With photo-ids for you and/or your nominated representatives, and a system of passcodes that give you access to your systems (and only your systems!) you’ll find us cooperative and responsive but ultimately secure.

Fire protection is always a question of reducing risk – risk of fire breaking out, and risk of false alarm. Our Very Early Smoke Detection Apparatus (VESDA) alarms, combined with a ‘double knock’ zone system, mean that fires can be detected extremely early, but that you’re protected against the 3am call for the false alarm. And as you’d expect, in the event of calamity, system-friendly gases flood the affected area to ensure minimum downtime and a zero fire damage risk.

Perhaps the single most important benefit of partnering with IFL is our massive range of connectivity options. Our Tier-1 Network Providers such as AT&T and BT, and bandwidth suppliers including Avensys and Claranet, ensure that blindingly fast, ultra-reliable connectivity is always at hand. We encourage an internal market, with connectivity suppliers bidding for your business.
