No one can claim that a data centre is good for the environment but we can at least make the most efficient use of the power we do use. The industry is making great strides towards this having settled on a metric to measure this efficiency - Power Usage Effectiveness (PUE). Teaming up with Keysource we will design, build and manage data centres that return the best PUE possible making them the most efficient in the UK.

Keysource specialise in integrated, energy-efficient solutions which increase the efficiency of the data centres by using bespoke, industry-leading solutions that drive down power consumption while meeting the cooling demands of latest-generation IT equipment.

Using specialist tools such as CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) software the team design data centres with maximum energy efficiency using powerful 3-D software. CFD software allows us to model air flows within the proposed facility and analyse hot and cool air flows, which is essential to create the most efficient data centre capable of housing the maximum IT load.

The net result will be world–leading data centres that are 40% more energy efficient than the current crop of industry designs.
