Founded in 1997 IFL was set up by The University of Manchester to sell surplus data centre space. Clients were typically small businesses or IT Service Providers needing somewhere highly available and secure to colocate their IT equipment.
Since those days IFL have been through the Internet boom of the late 90’s and the bust of the early 2000s' but some things haven’t changed; IFL’s mission to provide highly available, highly secure, and in keeping with the times, environmentally intelligent, carrier neutral data centres to the retail SME and IT Services markets.
More recently IFL parted company with the University and were bought by The Attenda Group in 2007. Along with an ambitious plan to develop the business into the UK’s largest provider of regional, business class, carrier neutral data centres, Attenda have also reinforced the underlying culture of client care and responsibility that has characterised IFL over the years.
IFL believes that critical IT infrastructure requires a specialist environment which most small to mid-size companies are unable to provide in house. IFL provides Business Class Data Centres that allow the client to deliver their IT applications and services on a highly available and highly secure platform. Combined with a focus on client care this has made IFL one of Manchester's largest providers of carrier neutral colocation facilities, now operating some 23,000 square feet of data centre space.
At the hub of the region's internet our mission is to be the UK’s largest provider of regional, business class, carrier neutral data centres. Using environmentally intelligent technology we will deliver the most efficient collocation facilities on the market.
We hope you will join us for this exciting journey.
